The Running Man (2025)

 

The original "Running Man" movie from back in the late 80's I did watch, just once, all I can remember is that it starred Arnie, was written by Stephen King and that's about it. So when a remake was announced I can't say I was that excited, until I heard Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, The Cornetto Trilogy) was directing. So on a 2 day trip in London with two free Odeon tickets I thought I'd give it a go on the big screen, and 2 hours 15 minutes (!) later what did I think? Well it's bloody long, I mean 2hrs + of a bloke being chased around, in all honesty it's not really thrilling or exciting, I thought it might have some Robocop style political satire with some ultra-violence thrown in (there is some which got my attention) but the main Character Ben played by Glen Powell is rather unlikeable so it's hard to get involved in a movie that seems to go on for ever. You'll watch it once and forget about it sadly.
