I've never been interested in the 'Resident Evil' franchise, on the whole video games adapted to the a movie tend to be crap on the whole, but this one drew my attention, why? well it's directed by Zach Cregger who brought us the excellent 'Barbarians' from a few years ago and my movie of 2025 'Weapons' so my tail was in the air for this!It has to be said the first third is a mixed bag, quite slowly paced, the movie does come across as watching a video game, and then bang! It goes coco-bananas, very reminiscent of the classic 'The Cabin In The Woods', monsters going bonkers, blood and guts fling around the screen, a quite insane finale and great fun!
4/5
