It's not a reboot or a remake of the film of the same name from back in but a parody instead, a kind of snakes in the jungle "Tropic Thunder". The cast is top draw, Paul Rudd, Thandie Newton, Jack Black (who I've always loved) and the brilliant Steve Zahn as a recovering alcoholic! The reviews from the snooty critic were slightly negative at 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, but ignore them, a positive 76% from the general public and I'm firmly in that boat being hunted by a 20 foot snake! It's great fun, loads of cheesy gags (the scene involving Jack Black with a dead Hog on his back and a squirrel in his mouth-I'll leave that here) and as I said ,a great solid cast who can do comedy, the CGI snake definitely works, the Amazon scenery is stunning, solid stupid fun that's got a lot of bite!
