Oasis vs Blur, Blair, Britpop, the EURO's in England, Zig And Zag, 1996, what a time to be alive, here's the pick of the movie releases 30, yes 30, years ago.
1. The Frighteners-Peter Jackson's all time great, creepy but very funny, Michael J Fox is having a blast.
2. Trainspotting -(THE movie of the 90's)
3. Swingers -(the coolest movie of '96 "you're so money"
4.Mars Attacks!-Tim Burton at his best, just wonderful 50's feel cheesiness with it's tongue firmly in its cheek ACK ACK!
5.That Thing You Do-great 60's set feel good comedy directed by Tom Hanks with a glorious title track.
6. Independence Day-The Big screen Hollywood Summer blockbuster of the year, utterly daft but just great fx throughout.
7. Scream-the movie that changed the horror/slasher genre for good.
8. From Dusk Till Dawn-blood soaked fun from Rodriguiz and Tarantino and who can forget Salam Hayek's entrance!
9. Fargo-a classic from the Coen brothers set in the icy baron landscape of Minnesota.
10. Freeway-a little known film, a twisted retelling of the Litte Red Riding Hood tale with a serial killer.
